Description: GUBI’s Beetle is a collection of elegant and comfortable chairs, designed by the Danish-Italian design duo Gam Fratesi. Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi drew their inspiration for the playful chair design from the anatomy of beetles, which is apparent in the delicate, insect-like legs and hard, curved shell. Launched in 2012, the Beetle chair is suitable for a variety of uses and spaces and comes now in several colours and materials. The relaxed chairs are suitable for various environments and purposes, from private homes to public spaces. The Beetle Chair’s design is inspired by the insect’s anatomy, featuring a hard outer shell and a soft interior, reflected in the material choices. The shell, whether polypropylene or wood veneer, is designed to offer comfort through slight flexibility. Upholstered versions typically incorporate layers of foam for support and softness. The base materials offer both aesthetic variety and functional stability. Outdoor versions utilize UV-treated polypropylene for durability against the elements.
